High jewellery suspends buying diamonds from Russia

In fact, as Tiffany & Co. also stated a few days ago, the Swiss company, Chopard, has now decided to stop buying diamonds from Russia, the world's largest source of stone supplies.

Russia therefore continues to be in the luxury world’s viewfinder after the giant Signet Jeweler inaugurated this new market trend, followed by the historic American brand Tiffany & Co. and now by the Swiss company Chopard which, according to a recent press release, “takes its commitment to highest standard ethical sourcing extremely seriously and will continue to monitor the situation in Russia to ensure that its principles are never compromised, either now or in the future.”

Chopard already launched the ‘Journey to Sustainable Luxury’ project back in 2013, through which the company guarantees constant monitoring of its suppliers, ensuring that they purchase responsibly sourced stones.
