The new rhytm of high-end watches
Precious and precise as always, more creative than usual: the new high-range watches presented by the sector’s big players, combine the impeccable precision of their Métiers d'Art with a particularly lively and innovative design, breaking away from the classic and low-key image that the haute horlogerie world often draws on.
“Première Electro” is the highly colorful and irreverent model proposed by Chanel, which has just launched its capsule collection, “Chanel Electro”, featuring stylistic codes inspired by the energy of electronic music in the ‘90s. Interpreted in vibrant colors to contrast with the burnished steel, this limited-edition timepiece has a high-precision quartz movement and comes with a woven chain strap with a multi-color leather profile.
Instead, “Royal Oak, 38 mm” is the new self-winding chronograph by Audemars Piguet, which has just presented its latest ideas in ladies watches.
The Swiss manufacture of high-end watches offers a valuable model in 18-carat pink gold with a bezel complete with a series of baguette-cut amethysts. The purple gems are a perfect match to the bright colors on the dial, demonstrating attention to detail and a well-balanced play on color that winks at the haute joaillerie and haute couture worlds.
Piaget’s “Celestial Dance” watch is also seductive due to the choice of colors, details and design. Part of the company’s new “Extraordinary Lights” high jewelry collection, it pays homage to the beauty of a night sky through skillful marquetry patterns created by artist Rose Saneuil, who has lent her technical expertise to the decoration on the dial: the unique effect of the mosaic marquetry is obtained by contrasting materials that are not usually adopted in the sector, in other words, blue straw, leather, parchment, elytron and hornbeam.
A special limited edition of just 8 watches, each of which requiring over 50 hours of work, prove how innovation and state-of-the-art cannot do without the worthy hands of man.
